UIC Welcomes all new and returning students to Homecoming 2018! Check below for a list of events.

Homecoming Schedule

November 10 - 11, 2018
  • 12:00pm - 4:00pm | Paint the Windows

    Location: Around Campus (locations will be assigned)

    Organizations can start off Homecoming week by painting a window on campus (locations will be assigned) with a UIC theme to help show their school pride!

    Top three organization winners will be awarded Student Organization Support funds. First place $200 SOR Support, second place $100 SOR Support, and third place $50 SOR Support.

    Paint, brushes, and supplies to COVER THE FLOOR under the windows will all be supplied. Absolutely NO OUTSIDE ART SUPPLIES WILL BE ALLOWED!

    Organizations must clean up all excess paint from their area--window frames, tables, floors, etc.

    Painting will be limited to an assigned window.

    Winners will be selected by UIC Alumni and Staff Representatives. Prizes will be awarded at the Homecoming Kick-Off Bash on Monday, November 12. All PTW participating organizations are encouraged to attend.

    Come out to PTW, show everyone on campus your organization’s art skills and UIC spirit!

    Location: LC Quad

    Friendly competition between academic colleges! We will have live music, Paint the Windows winners, and more! Come cheer on your college and show off your flames spirt!

  • 11:00am - 2:00pm | Taste of UIC

    Location: East Terrace, SCE

    This year's Taste of UIC will introduce and immerse students in culture found all across UIC's campus and in Chicago! Students will receive 'tastes' of these cultures through presentations, demonstrations, performances and of course some food to tie it all together!

  • 4:30pm - 6:30pm | Flames Tailgate

    Location: UIC Pavilion Parking Lot 1B

    Description: Let's get fired up, UIC! It's our home opener for the Men's basketball team. It's time for a Flames Tailgate during UIC Homecoming Week 2018! Wear your favorite UIC swag! Join us for the tailgate before the game and we will ALL go to the game!!

    It's always a good time in the Pavilion Parking Lot....free food and drinks provided. Activities and live entertainment! Cars and tents (anchored) are welcomed.

  • 8:00pm - Midnight | Homecoming Dance

    Location: Field Museum

    The Homecoming Dance is a semiformal social tradition at UIC. This year, it will be held on November 16th at the Field Museum and is Masquerade themed. Come out to show your school spirit, socialize, and dance to great music. Food and refreshments will be provided. Buy tickets HERE.

    Shuttles will be available to take you and a guest from UIC Student Center East to the Field Museum and back. Email will go out regarding shuttle information soon.

    Things to note:
    No parking at the Field Museum.
    No outside food or beverages. Refreshments and hors d'oeuvres will be provided.
    No bookbags.
    Coat check will be available.
    No jeans or sneakers.
    No tickets will be sold at the door.
    Your guest requires a photo ID/Driver's License/State ID

UIC HOMECOMING COURT 2018 INFORMATION



In order to be eligible for the 2018 Homecoming Court, a person must be enrolled as a full time student at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.00.

A panel of preliminary judges will review each application. The panel will consist of representatives of the University faculty, staff and students. To ensure impartiality, the names of the judges will not be released until the interview.

Each preliminary judge will score the applications based on the following criteria:

  1. Involvement in University activities and organizations.
  2. Academic pursuits, interests, and achievements.
  3. Demonstration of leadership skills and abilities.
  4. Service to the community.
  5. Thoughtfulness and skill shown in response to questions.
  6. Enthusiasm and sincerity.

The interview will consist of standard questions, which will be posed to all candidates. The questions will pertain to the criteria given to the preliminary judging. In addition, judges will be allowed to ask questions based on the candidate’s responses and/or their applications.

The 2018 Homecoming Court will be announced at the Flames Basketball game on Thursday, November 15th and at the Homecoming Dance on November, 16th.

The deadline to submit an application and recommendation form is Wednesday, November 7.

Court Responsibilities:
Attendance at 2018 Homecoming Game on Thursday, November 15th and the Homecoming Dance, November 16th is required.

If you are interested in Homecoming Court, you must fill out the 2018 Homecoming Court Student Application and you must have another staff or faculty member submit the recommendation form.
