  • Campus Housing Project Lead

    Project LEAD is a three day program of workshops designed specifically to assist students in developing leadership skills and getting involved on campus from day one. This program allows first-year and transfer students to move in early and get a head start adjusting to UIC and living on campus. Visit http://housing.uic.edu/lead/ for more information.

    Campus Housing would like to welcome new residents by hosting a free dinner! Come meet new people on your floor and hear about involvement opportunities. You will be able to meet the Chancellor, learn the fight song, and walk away with a fun gift from Residence Hall Association. This event is only for students who live in Campus Housing.

    Campus Housing New Student Days

    New Student Days (8/23 - 8/27), is a series of programs intended to welcome all incoming first year and incoming transfer residents to campus and the city of Chicago. New Student Days is filled with many free and affordable on-campus and off-campus events designed to help first year and transfer residents get acquainted with Chicago, UIC's campus and each other.     Student Organization Conference for new student organization leaders. It is a mandatory meeting for 2 student organization leaders. They will learn about effective event planning, marketing, and funding. Keynote will be presenting. 8:30am Open registration 9am Welcome

    All incoming first year Honors College students are invited to attend the New Student Retreat, where they will hear from the Honors College staff, connect with their Honors Core course peers, and learn from Honors College student leaders.     Do you know the best strategy for studying that uniquely matches how you learn? This workshops helps attendees identify which of the five styles of studying describes them. It then provides strategies on how to maximize your ability to learn, encode, and retrieve your class work information. Attendees will also learn how anxiety can negatively affect their ability to study and learn and techniques needed to overcome test or study anxiety. Attendees receive a free “Study Smart Study Less” book. Supplies are limited.

    "Spark is UIC's music festival on campus. The event is open to students, faculty, staff and guests of UIC. In 2010 as a back-to-school event, Spark was designed to bring local, national, little known, and well known artists to campus. The music fest offers an eclectic mix of entertainment for UIC's diverse campus community. Since Spark began, the UIC Community has been entertained with great music performances from Lupe Fiasco, The Cool Kids, Flosstradamus, The Hood Internet, Barefoot Truth, Footlight Frenzy, Girl Talk, Kid Cudi, Chance the Rapper, Kendrick Lamar, 21 Pilots, Young Thug & Travis Scott, Nick Jonas.     UIC Revelry is UIC’s annual 3-day (9/28, 9/29 & 9/30) carnival hosted in Parking Lot 9 (Halsted & Roosevelt). UIC Revelry is open to students, faculty, staff, and the greater UIC Community. The Carnival boasts 10 major amusement carnival rides, 8 family rides, midway games, and food trailers. UIC Revelry occurs every year on the last weekend of September.
